Blue Curry’s New Work at trove in Deptford

As one of 20 awarded artists in the main program of the exhibition Blue Curry will use the salvation army shop to show new sculptural works. Mixed in with the assortment of bric-a-brac, clothing and other secondhand items found in the functioning shop he sets up an interesting challenge for both viewers and customers alike. Curated by Hew Locke and Indra Khanna. the work featured will be on sale in the shop on saturday oct 1. shop located on Deptford High Street. open 9.30 am – 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. Blue Curry creates hybrid works that float ambiguously between the ethnographic find, the souvenir and  the contemporary art form. His simple and idiosyncratic objects will be sited in a local charity shop, setting up an interesting challenge for both viewers and customers. Holly Bynoe is a Vincentian visual artist and writer based in the Caribbean, and a recent graduate of Bard College International Center of Photography where she earned her M.F.A. in Advanced Photographic Studies. Her work has been shown regionally and internationally, and has been featured in numerous publications.
