Grenada Arts Council call for Artists to be part of Database

By Holly Bynoe Monday, February 20th, 2012 Categories: ARC Partners, Updates

Grenadian Art is defined as art that is produced relevant to Grenada, and/or by Grenadian and non-Grenadian artists. In spite of  the GAC’s small size, the main focus of council over the past 48 years has been and remains, the promotion and development of Grenadian visual art. In 2011, the GAC joined IFACCA, the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies www.ifacca.org. IFACCA created in December 2000, has members in over 70 countries, and is the global network of national arts funding agencies dedicated to improving best practice in arts and cultural policy development, arts funding, audience development and public access to the arts.

Statistics are necessary for the GAC to put together proposals to access both local and international donor funding for our proposed developmental programmes. This information will also provide them with an up to date list of the number of artists producing Grenadian art, and the type of work they create. With this in mind, the GAC is putting together a database of all artists resident in Grenada, and Grenadian artists living abroad, and invite all artists at this time to provide the following information, via email to  before 31st March 2012.

  1. Artist Full Name (First, Last)
  2. Sex
  3. Year of Birth
  4. Place of Birth (City, Country)
  5. Current resident Parish in Grenada

  9. Website or Blog (if applicable)
  10. General Statement about your work
