International Photo Exhibit “Women’s Planet’ at the Alliance Française of St Vincent
Wednesday, June 6th, 2012 Categories: Exhibitions, UpdatesFor the second edition of its international photography contest, the Fondation Alliance française, in partnership with Courrier International and Marie Claire (2 famous french newspapers), has chosen the theme “Women’s Planet”. More than 200 Alliances Françaises representing 80 countries participated, with a total of about 1,000 amateur photographers featuring their images. This theme is a way to honor the women of the world highlighting their diversity, beauty and strength. RSVP to attend here.
With this contest, the Fondation Alliance Française seeks to highlight the plurality of its network and provide the opportunity for amateur photographers around the world to be known by having a chance to exhibit their work. The jury of the contest , chaired by fashion designer Agnès b, was held in Paris on 12th October 2011 and has selected 21 winners representing 42 photos. Holly Bynoe is a Vincentian visual artist and writer based in the Caribbean. She is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of ARC Magazine, and a recent graduate of Bard College International Center of Photography where she earned her M.F.A. in Advanced Photographic Studies. Her work has been shown regionally and internationally, and has been featured in numerous publications.
