NLS is a visual art initiative in Kingston, Jamaica that aims to support the work of local and international artists whose practices are based in experimentation, and to connect the local art scene to the global art community. As part of its programming NLS rents affordable studio space open to visual artists with a demonstrable studio practice (working in any medium).  We currently have a studio space for rent (details below).  If you are interested in this space please send 7 – 10 images of work that you made in the past 12 months, or a link to your website to .

NLS will host three simultaneous artists-in-residence per year for 6 - 9 weeks, with each residency culminating in an exhibition.  Through its gallery, NLS will also conduct a strong curatorial program.  Additionally, NLS rents affordable studio space to any visual artist with a demonstrable studio practice (working in any medium).  NLS is also conducting research to assess the needs of visual artists in Jamaica and we are currently seeking participants for the study. Participation requires taking a 7 minutes survey that is completely anonymous.  The survey is located at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NLS_Visual_Artist_Survey
