Mike Spears was Born in Bloomington Indiana in 1970. In 1978 he moved to Puerto Rico where his father lives and where he calls home. Mike went to film school at Boston University. Mike’s lived in Brooklyn for 13 years alongside his faithful cat Stinky. Mikes’ photo work has appeared In VICE, High Times, and WaxPoetics.

Mike grew up mostly in sunny Puerto Rico and has a multicultural perspective that translates throughout many of his photographs. He’d like artists inspired by the Caribbean and Latin America to enjoy the same prominence and credibility that artists from New York and other cultural meccas experience.
