As anticipation builds for this year’s TEDxPortofSpainSalon conference, the selecting committee are thrilled to announce the current batch of speakers for TEDxPortofSpain 12.12.12. at the Central Bank Auditorium! The TEDxPortofSpain Salon conference is just 19 days away and include an amazing lineup of speakers, starting with:

Have you requested your invitation yet? To request a ticket, please fill out the form. The first set of tickets were announced yesterday, thank you to all of our applicants. The committee will continue to announce tickets and look forward to seeing you there! Once invited, the cost to attend is $TT300. In order to ensure money is not a barrier to attend any events, the committee does offer bursaries. Please see instructions on the form page to request a scholarship.

TEDxPortofSpainSalon – Art Unusual

To prepare for the upcoming event on the 12.12.12, TEDxPortofSpain has partnered with Trinidad Theatre Workshop to bring you a very special Salon called themed Art Unusual. This salon will be interactive style salon and will take a very participatory approach. We will be drawing on some of traditions and techniques of improvisation to engage in what we are calling experiments with conversation. Please use this form to confirm your attendance. About Trinidad Theatre Workshop

The objective of Trinidad Theatre WORKSHOP is to encourage expression of our Caribbean realities, through performance. The ‘Workshop’ facet of TTW includes outreach programmes like School for The Arts, Teen Theatre and Theatre In Education (T.I.E). Trinidad Theatre Workshop (TTW) was founded in 1959 by Nobel Laureate, Derek Walcott, his twin brother, Roderick Walcott, along with other internationally acclaimed performers like Beryl Mc Burnie, Errol Jones, Fred Hope and Eunice Alleyne. TTW and has been dubbed ‘The Flagship of the Theatre Movement in the Caribbean”.

TTW introduced Trinidad and Tobago’s first theatre season with three plays and has defined “the classics” emerging from this country: Walcott’s The Joker of Seville, Ti-Jean and His Brothers, Dream on Monkey Mountain, Henri Christophe. The Workshop has spanned 5 decades of theatre production including the epic production of Derek Walcott/ Galt Mac Dermot’s musical, STEEL, in 2005.
