Skylarc Pictures in association with UNESCO Sandwatch presents ‘Reclaiming Paget Farm’Friday, July 26th, 2013 Categories: Film, Screenings, Updates
Saturday, July 27th, at 6:30pm, Skylarc Pictures in association with UNESCO Sandwatch (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) proudly present Reclaiming Paget Farm, a special community screening and panel discussion.
Reclaiming Paget Farm, a documentary film produced by Jessica Jaja and directed by Cabral LARC Trotman, tells the story of a Caribbean community’s fight for environmental justice. Paget Farm has witnessed devastating environmental change in recent decades, transforming the community into a bottleneck for marine debris, wastewater and sewage. But at the heart of this environmental disaster lies a beautifully strong community striving for change.
Bequia will have the chance to see a special community screening and engage in an interactive panel discussion, bringing together community members, environmental advocates, government officials and specially invited guests. Reclaiming Paget Farm, a participatory visual arts pilot, demonstrates how collective actions can bring positive social and environmental change—with specific emphasis on partnerships, education and public outreach. This documentary represents a new wave of filmmaking that not only exposes realities but is also part of the active struggle for sustained and transformational change. This is the story of Reclaiming Paget Farm.
